What are Satellite Clubs?

Sport England is working in partnership with National Governing Bodies of sport (NGBs) and County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) by investing over £49 million of Lottery funding into the development of Satellite Clubs.

Research shows many young people stop playing sport when they leave school, satellite clubs aims to provide a supported pathway for young people to make the transition from school to community sport easier.

In partnership with Basketball England and the Herts Sports Partnership, we are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a number of clubs this season in a variety of secondary schools in East Hertfordshire These clubs are a great way to be involved with basketball outside of school, but not have that big commitment of joining a club. Sessions have an open door policy so it doesn’t matter if you’re not part of the host club, everyone is welcome to attend.

The idea of a satellite club is to be fun and informal and it’s all about getting as many students in one area as possible to BE involved.  Coaches from our specially trained clubs make sessions as relaxed as possible whilst ensuring your personal and playing skills are developing too.

Please see below a number of clubs and locations that will be running during the 2016/17 academic year. All children between 11-16 years old, both boys and girls are welcome to attend.
